EML Girls in Science Programme
One of the millennium development goal’s (MDGs) targets is to promote gender equality. EML, as the organization that promotes science and technology in Lesotho, has found this issue to be of great importance to be addressed as women are under-represented in most areas of science, in most parts of the developing and developed world. Lesotho is not an exception. Women are not well presented in science, engineering, and technology as students, teachers, professors or workers.
UNESCO funded the EML Girls in Science Programme in 2009 and ever since then, EML has put the to its top priorities the education of girls country-wide: Morija Girls High School, St. Mary's High School, St. Catherine's High School and Holi Family High Schools are pilot schools of EML on this Project
